Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi ppls. I was just wondering whats involved in a 2" body lift. I know you need to get the blocks for the body mount but is it as easy as jacking up the body and slipping in the blocks or is it more involved then that???

No its for my 60 series cruiser.

you will have to change the radiator shroud, because the radiator will lift up as well. With mine I just took the bottom half off and it cleared the fan. Also the 4x4 lever might hit the cab

On a 60 you will have no end of trouble making a gear stick boot. 12mm is all that is sensible on those in my exp.
May as well just buy new mounts, they will lift it a bit too.

its easy i have to both my 60's, ull have to lower the radiator, for the top mounts ull need to drill holes but for the bottom u can jus turn the mounts upside down witch makes it 2" lower ( im pretty sure its the mounts on the radiator, could be the ones on the support panel)

with the 4wd lever on the first one i done i just cut the floor with some tin snips worked fine, with the second one i took the lever off and got it in the vise and bent it

my transfer is the vacume one and when i done the body lift it wouldnt go into 4wd but found it had pulled off 2 of the vacume lines,

i had no other problems with steering sharft, fuel lines or anything that i can think of.

the transfer lever will hit the cab and need modification

The shroud will need modifying as Strom said

You may need to get extended bolts too, i did, they were $9.80 each, good hi tensile bolts.

All 8 of them are not the same size, i think 4 short, 4 long? Cant remember.

The back 2 mounts are accessible via 2 panels screwed on from the under/front side if ya look under you will find them

Just watch your brake lines/clutch line to make sure they wont pull tight.

your brake lines will be fine they have coils in them that let them strech never taken any notice of the clutch but has been goin perfect for the last 12 months

Doing mine i need 2 mates, would not set and settle in took a few goes plus my two front bolts were all seized. like the boys said cut lower radiator shroud,i havent moved it just slide hose down a bit as the neck is long anuf, i took braket off handbrake cable which fits on rear diff, 2 bolts, and like sumone said transfer lever will need bending or just trim around to make it all fit, should take only few hours to do........
