1hdfte vs 1hdft consumpion
Does that 1hdfte use a lot of fuel?i have heard rumours of them using close to the same as petrol engines?
Ino the 1hdft is great on fuel so i found it hard to believe an injected one would use much more?
Thanks

in which vehicle with which transmission with what stuff bolted on for what kind of driving?
they are internally near identical, the biggest factor in the consumption is the driver.
the 1HD-FTE has higher injection pressures and more boost + intercooling, it is capable of making more power, and if you use the extra available power it will use more fuel. if you drive it conservatively, it will use less fuel han the 1HD-T however the rub is that if you step out of an 80 with a 1HD-FT into a 100 with a 1HD-FTE, the 100 weighs about 200kg more, and is wider and taller, so will use more for the same speed and distance.

1hdfte use more fuel than a petrol
your nuts
i just fitted one to my fzj105 auto 285 tyres lotsa steel barwork winch
all the goodies
petrol consumption or should i say guzzle was 24-28l per 100kms didnt matter if it was around town or on the hwy
1hdfte 12l per 100kms anywhere
so how much margin do you think it saves???????
truckloads considering i do approx 85 thou ks a year about 20 k of dirt and offroad
i love it and better hwy truck as it holds speed better than the petrol motor
love it

if you drive it conservatively, yes. my 1HD-FT 80 just filled up both tanks for a combined 50/50 highway/city 10.6l/100km. it has done sub 10 before. a 1HD-FTE is capable of better.esp22 wrote:Would it use much if i boltd it up to my 80 series with some bar work, 3inch lift and 35s?looking around the 12l/100k mark? Thanks

Ive got a 2006 100series tdi, in std trim with an estate alloy bull bar and both tanks relativly full i had it weighed and it came in just under 2840kg should mention its a Sahara so nearly 300kg over std GXL, normal driving around 12.5 on a trip 10.5/11.5, and twice my wife has driven back from Melb to home (220kmh trip) and returned 9.2/9.4
I have an fte in my sahara. When it was a petrol it returned 20l/100 on the best of days, now with the fte it returns around 12 and it gets driven alot harder, it also is noticeably faster than it was with the 1fz.
Its an auto too btw.

Unsubstantiated rumors. Maybe from people really chipped the 100 series version up with the high output kits and driving the nuts off them but even then I doubt it.
I have a ute FTe in a manual 80 with 3" lift and 35's and DP Chip wound up. Still easily does just on or under 12's in combined cycles and always running on or 5-10 k's over limit whether on flat or hills. Exhaust temps don't get hot, doesn't smoke, just goes sweet.

cost about 12g if you fit yourself and 15g if get it done for you
how much do you think a6.5 chev v8 diesel is???????
try nearly 20g for a lump that has so many varying fuel figures its crazy
you will pay around 9-12g for any other type of egine conversion if someone else does it for you cheaper if you do it yourself
and the 80 would be worth more with a fte in it

A good mate of mine converted mine. He has done well over 10 conversions now.
I did the maths on my conversion and worked out id pay off the cost of the motor in less than 2 years worth of fuel.
The 20/100 was actually quiet a conservative figure
