plumbing up heat exchanger to 1HZ for shower...

Post by ash_on_mtb »

Alright, what the story...

Image

I'm assuming heater water out of the block in one brass end, then back into the loop of the heater. Other water line comes in opposite direction of flow from pump, through exch and to outlet...?!

I want to mount it up on the firewall, near the position its located. Which heater lines do I need to cut and join?

The heat exchanger is a McPaul's Auto Shower brand, duely cleaned and refurbished, now just awaiting new bolts and some silicon and its back in action. I can't find any instructions, and obviously, its second hand...

Any help would be great,

cheers, :D

Where the red circle is I disconnected and hooked up to the heat exchanger. Then put a loop hose from the other end back to the original point (heater tap). With my glind unit the heater water went in the RHS and looped from the LHS back to the tap with the water line (shower water) running from LHS and out the RHS to the shower rose.

I mounted mine on a bracket across the firewall using the bolt in the orange circle and anonther that was where the X is (maybe try the other one in the orange circle).

This was on a 1HZ HZJ75 ute.

Enjoy hot showers.
