If i fit extended shackles to the front of my v8 Lux will this help the leaf springs any. They sit pretty flat as they are. Or will it just push the leaves down even more

They won't do anything for the arc of the springs if that's what you're asking..
They will drop the rear of the spring a couple of inches depending on their length but extended shackles are commonly used in conjunction with longer springs (eg RUF conversion) to allow for the best flex!

Thanks mate. Yeh thats what i was talking about the Arc. The front springs are about 7 months old and they were on the Lux when i got it. There is five leaves in each pack iand i have been told they are heavy duty packs. But they dont look to good the way they sit. Would you have any ideas on how i coulkd get the truck to sit up so to speak in the front. I am even thinking about ditching the 253.

They could be a heavy duty pack, but a stock hilux motor weighs half as much as a v8 so you need to allow for the extra weight of the motor when ordering springs.

from what i know from the previous owner the springs were ordered to compsate for the weight of the transplant and i have checked wih the manufacturer of the springs who assures me they are the corect ones. So i am stuck for solutions at present. Do you know of any other type of springs that i could use

The spring perch on the front of the hilux's actually wear in a banana sorta upside down if you know what i mean. as you tighten the u-bolts it actually pulls the springs down the opposite way to the arc. you can buy spring perch plates to reserect it
