gday,im after some advice, recently bought a 2000 gu ute, swapped lift and 35's off my old gq ute,and am tossing up whether to swap the schwitzer turbo over to the new truck to,as it stands now the gu with standard turbo and exhaust, goes a bees dick better than the old gq turning 35's,but the gu only has 140ks vs an untouched 305k gq motor,so the gu is quite a bit healthier, the schwitzer setup already has a straight thru 3" system..is it worth swapping the schwitzer & 3" exh over or just buy a 3"system for the stock gu turbo, until i can afford a bb garret??advice please cheeers

Personally i'd wait till you can afford a garrett bb or even get mtq to put a gt2876r bb centre in your hitachi turbo as it will haul ass with that setup, the schwitzer is actually under sized for the td42.

Didnt you ask this on Patrol forum? if not someone has asked 100% same thing recently.

FWIW, the Schwitzer setup will outrun the stock GU setup if tuned properly. I'd swap it. It wont be worse thats for sure.

"the schwitzer is actually under sized for the td42"
Fairly broad statement -What spec schwitzer is this bloke running, and how do you know its too small?

They do an exchange turbo comes ready to bolt on with the fittings hoses $2200, a bit less if you get it trade from memory.

A garrett will cost you around $1800 then u need all the fittings, hoses and you need a new dump housing and change the inlet piping from the airbox to the turbo. I've priced it up and was alot more than $2200.

turbo compare
