Hi all , i appologise if this has already been asked but i was wanting to know what everybody had done to lift the steering arm up over the leaf spring packs when doing a spring over on a bj42 running 40 series steering. Any suggestions would be great

Cheers

You basically have two options. You can run a flip arm, aka a double arm, which is basically one arm flipped over, milled flat and welded or bolted on to the arm already there. Alternatively BBM, Superior etc sell cast versions. This gives you what is known as crossover steer.

The better option though is to get a hi-steer arm, again, BBM, Lockdup, Superior etc. These days there is really very little difference in price between a cast flip arm and a histeer arm. If I were doing a SOA on a 40 I would be emailing locktup and ordering one fo sho. This gives you what is known (surprisingly) as Hi-Steer and IMO is the preferable of the two.
