This worth while? I have an extra cab lux and want more seats, but can't justify selling my car for what it would actually sell for.
Are the mounts in the same areas? How much do you think engineering would cost me?
I'm 17 so money is on the short side..
ta,
Keith.

4runner body on extra cab hilux chassis?
Moderators: toaddog, Elmo, DUDELUX
the body mounts are different and i had to do a 3inch bodylift to clear the rear tailshaft crossmember.
The fuel tank also needs a bashing so it wont hit the body..
The wiring is the same if they are both the same motor. Its just plug in and play.. The 4runner has an electric rear window that has a relay for it and the rear wiper motor. The hilux has no wires for that so you will have to make a power supply for that from the relay. speedo cable, fuel lines, hand brake cable on a 4runner chassis is shorter.. the brake lines are the same.. the clutch lines are the same..
Cheers

I'm only 17 as well and it took me and 3 other blokes to lift a hilux single cab body off and me and 5 blokes to lift a 4runner cab.. then it took me a weekend and it was running again..

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the Hilux chassis was about 230mm longer in the wheel base therefore the 4runner body won't fit
1990 Toyota Surf with a few minor mod's
1UZFE V8 (Engine Conversion by Me)
Coil SAS 60 series front diff (Done By Me)
No Loka's Damb it_____ Just LSD front and rear

Easier i guess to go and buy a 4runner then and sell ur extra cab lux.
The running gear is the same for both, so unless you wanna change diff ratios or something i wouldnt bother.
you can put subs in a 4runner as well
engine wise i would go for a 4y or 2.4D, diesel if you wanna go rock crawling cause carbies dont like the angles.. or just run the 4y on straight gas..
