Sill tanks - keep or not?

I removed the sill tanks from the RR today (they had been disconnected by the previous owner after 1 of the lines got cut offroading, plus I needed to get access to the seat base retaining bolts, which are hidden by the tanks).
I'm now debating whether to refit them or not. To me they look like they will sustain a lot of offroad damage (mine have 1 or 2 minor scrapes, nothing major but the previous owner probably wasn't a serious 4WDer).
Anyone here got them and how do you find 'em offroading?
If I do refit them, I will probably reinstall a bit differently. Mine had the switch to change from main to sill, I would probably like to fit mine with a transfer pump to transfer from the sill tanks to main tank (ala Patrols).
