How many kmhs is to much,

How many Kmhs is considered still healthy for a Turbo diesel, my mates got a 1990 GXL factory turbo manual (3rd owner), we fully understand if a car hasnt been serviced correctly or abused would definatly shorten its life span, but driven normally as a every day family car and the ocasional bush trip, oil changed every 5000/8000 kmhs, what would be a realistic life span,
the reason for the question is he"s thinking of selling as the kmhs are just over the 380,000 mark, car is currently running fine with no issues, basically wondering what would be a rough lifespan on the engine

depends if the big ends have been done in that model.

but i think you would be disapointed with under 480.

the stock ones were duds and often shat themselves.
meaning a possible engine rebuild.

but i they are done then thats a really good thing mate.

it really is pot luck. but i just bought a 96 gxl turbo with 380k on it. i will be pissed if it dies ever. but realistically 480-500 is personally what i think you want. but some people talk about getting 700-800 out of them.
im yet to witness one with my own eyes.

is the 1990 model 80 series with the exception of bearing issue the same as the 1996 model motor, when did they go multivalve injected??
