Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey all again.

I have been absent for a bit still reading daily but no posts.

I am still looking to buy a 4x4 but money is the issue atm. I was wondering about suzuki sierra as they are a very capable machine and for some reason I love the look of them.

What I want to know is will I fit in one. Im roughly about 6ft 6.

If I wont is it possible just to re-mount the seat further back?

It's more critical to move the steering wheel back - it will be in your knees.

Yes, he did fit with full doors on.

AFAIK, the seats were in the stock spot but you can see the steering wheel spacer he made so his thighs/knees cleared the wheel.

Are they LWB zooks the same sort of build?

Yes, they use the same floor as the SWB so there's no extra room for seat travel in a LWB

do not buy a lwb unless you can put up with a bit of discomfort, im 6"4 and really struggle. I fit easily in a swb, but using the window winder whilst driving can be a issue. Nothing a boss kit and smaller s/wheel couldnt fix

Hmmm how annoying. I really hate having to mod a vehicle just to fit in the bloody thing. I just dont want a patrol that much and the Sierra is such a good 4x4.

How easy is it to mod the steering wheel so that it would be above my knees?

Got me , wheres the difference between the seating positions in the swb and the lwb , not including the cab chassis tray top ?

There isn't any, going from my swb to my brothers lwb there is no difference in seating position. Ute's may be different tho.

I have two mates that are 6"5 and 6"6 and they are both big units. They both fit in zooks, it is good to watch when they are both in the same one

One advantage is when there is two of them, you can pick it up is you get stuck.

The bloke who is 6"5 has a GQ as a tow car, and he doesn't fit in it any better anyway.

Thanks everyone for the replies that really helps I was told that I would not fit at all. This is obviously BS. I dont have any friends that have a zook.

Brother has a wrangler parents have a pajero all my friends hate 4wding (I found this out after i became their friends)

Thanks once again it looks like I can still look for a zook. I would prefer a LWB though as they are better offroad (or so I am told)

I have had 6 sierras over the years. I'm 6'4" 120kg, and the best fit was a maruti ute. Worst is my current tin top ute but I have fitted a spacer behind the steering wheel, fitted some recaros and relocated the radio to a custom roof console and now its comfortable enough for a 2-3 hr drive. After that I need 15mins to stretch the legs

I wont need to drive for more then 3 hours very often I would not think.

So that sounds positive.

I have owned numerous 4bys, as most have, and for us taller blokes, they are all a bit of a squeez.

The biggest was an F150, not too bad, but nothing like a full size road car.

Believe it or not, a wrangler is not much diff in seating for us than a suzi, two wranglers, one suzi, very similar seating. All i did was rid the suzi of its crap seat, put in the drivers just added a little extra length.

Thats interesting as I fit in my brothers wrangler. I would not say with ease but I certainly fit in it. I can deal with that sort of comfort or lack of. Yeh replacing those concrete slab seats that the zooks have would be the first thing I will do to it.

I'm only prob 6'1", 85kg and I don't think I've ever been more uncomfortable in a car than in a wrangler. Particularly the passenger seat.

The zook backrest is too laid back, otherwise the seating position isn't too bad. I had the window winder handle in one of my zooks sit right where my knee was and got uncomfortale after a while but was fixable.

You'll need fuel after 2-3 hours anyway so you'll be able to strecth your legs then.

Yeh thats a good point. I will need to get fuel. I understand what you mean about the wrangler they are a pain in the ass.

I wish I could bolt my seat from my Hyundai not the best car in the world but man I love their seats.

Why can't you, seriously.

Seats make for a comfortable run, and, suzi seats poke springs up your clakker, no fun, get a suzi, change seats, and you will have many hours of wheeling in great comfort.

Suzis are a great little 4by, but, they do need some mods, lift kit, bigger wheels, more power, wider track, go one further and simply change the seating.

I most certainly would. If I did not have to sell my car to buy the zook hehe. But I will be replacing the seat rather quickly I have never driven a Zook but I have heard only bad things about their comfort.

All that is fine as im not getting it to be comfortable. Lift Kit + Tyres will be the first thing I get done. Then a VIT or Carola engine will go into it.

Mine is the lwb maruti with the fibreglass back so the seats are craap and they cant recline far enough back.
The open back lwb are fine.
