engine warning light is on more oftern then not

i have a 93 mod 80series gxl 4.5 pet/gas. the engine light is on more oftern then off, the car has oil, coolent, alternator is charging, has oil pressure, is not overheating etc,,,, could it be air lock in the cooling system that needs to be bleed and if so how, or a fault behind the dash which i hear is common,,, ony ever noticed it after first coolent change,,, is this acoinsedence?? can anyone help it would be gretle appreciated

It won't be an air lock. The ECU has logged a fault, probably a sensor plug you may have knocked. Have a look around where you were working and check all electrical plugs. Failing that just go see someone with a scanner and they will be able to tell you exactly what it is.

i have changed the air flow meter for an unrelated problem and havnt noticed the light come back on... could that have been the fix or coincidence

The light is actually a "homosexual driver warning" light.

If the light went out its prob cause the bulb blew...

Either that or the air flow meter problem is what triggered the warning light. :D

You dont need a scanner for 93 model cruisers. Just short out the terminals in the diagnostic port, i forget which 2 right now but i have it all at home if you need it.

cross the te1 and e1 terminals in diegnosis plug on firewall and then turn on ignition and the check engine lite will flash a code if there is any

if this is the case,, the light was only ever on when my brother drove the car, lucky its not a standard option on suzuki's otherwise the light would be a permanent distraction for you.
