Did mine at home, expect to walk away in anger a few times and to be constantly trying to get it sorted. almost a year on and mine finally is running right.

Have heard of shops charging 10k drive in drive out. but thats only what i have heard. best to call them.

in commodore stakes. people say ecotec so VS to VY motor, but they are easier to kill, VN series 2 through to VR are the motors to use.

if wanting manual though, probably better off for power, economy, ease and price to go with the 3rz that everyone reccomends

yeah really after doing it and helping with two others i really wouldnt recomend it. 3rz's r definatly the way to go, even a 1uz quadcam v8 would end up cheeper and they use less fuel

Indeed, everyone i've seen has cooling problems.

Anything can be done at home with the right tools and know how and or persistance haha.

The 5.0 is a more worthwhile conversion than the v6, better motors can be selected than the v6 that are smaller, punch out the same power, burn less fuel, weigh less and don't need adaptors for everything.

Although, different courses for different horses, budget, personal opinion etc etc all play a part.
