06 Rodeo won't engage 4*4

I left my rodeo sitting for 5 weeks while I was away now it won't engage four wheel drive.The book says this is possible and to drive the car turn off the key and back on again.I've done this but nothing happened. I just got a new clutch put in before I left but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Has anyone else had this problem and maybe a solution.The light on the dash flashes like it is trying to do the job and then goes out.Tried putting it in neutral and nothing there either
