Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey all

My 84 rangie wont rev. When you try and rev it, it missfires. Ive rebuilt the dizzy everythin workin there put new diaphragms in the carbies and new spark plugs its on gas and petrol and does it on both. Gas is much worse.

I want to know what would be the cause before i spend more money. Coil is about 7 months old and the spark plug leads were replaced 2 years ok.

It also has electronic ignition. Could it be the coil or electronic ignition module inside the dizzy because thats all i can think of now im gonna get another coil tomorow and see how that goes. Any other ideas????

mate sounds like much the same problem im having with mine, ive tried and checked everything. Ive given up and on Monday im sending the beast to my rover guy (greg tunstall) who can hopefully fix it with minimal cost. ill let you know how he goes, it might be something very simple.

The ignition module does suffer from heat being mounted on the Dizzy.
If it is stuffed then swap it out for one off a 3.9 disco where the module is on a plate that mounts the coil.
