so im putting 30's on my 92 lwb vitara;
- next step is to modify the spare tyre mounting bracket on the tail gate (not sure how to do that yet) so it can carry a tyre with the same overall diameter as a 30...

- my qn: can you get a cheese cutter with the same or very close to the same diameter as a typical 30" (its a bfg mud terrain think its diameter is about 29.8)? the reason for doing this is so that there isnt too much weight on the back door>?
would there be much difference in weight between a 'lightweight' alloy wheel & a typical steel job??

Cheers,josh

You can a cheese cutter 700-16 tyre and run a skinny rim of a early ute or LJ.

But why??????

I would look at strengthening the door and if you make it so it clamps up against the door then the load will be shared over the whole door not just the little bolts.
