Gday folks

Im having trouble finding the specs for my 1987 LN65 dual cab Hilux. I even called the NSW RTA tech line and they dont know. Im currently fully certified with my mods but Im finding the 32.5x11.5R15 tires a bit limiting. Ideally 35s would be great.

Q: What is the factory front and rear track width?
Q: What is the widest factory wheel option sold? And diameter?
Q: What is the biggest factory tire size sold?

Thanks

Can't help you with the above although, 2 sets of tyres is the safest way to go, trying to stop the rolling diameter of a 35inch tyre on the stock brakes is a big ask, mine really struggles when i run the 35's, a set of cruiser off set rims will be the widest offset/track you can buy without going to flipped rims/spacers and/or ifs hubs and rear housing.

35's also open a big can of worms, moving the diff foward a fair way or hacking alot of the guard and firewall, if it is a dual cab it will hit the cab unless you move the diff back also.

according to my trans/axle plate, mine came with 31's and 4.5 diff gears, i replaced my diff gears and confirmed they had 4.5's in there.

I believe the biggest rim was a 16x6 and the tyres were 205R16

Thanks guys Im pleased to get any info on this :)

Yeah mate I know what your saying about the brakes and bigger tyres. Its an easy fix for me with a different master cylinder bore size, calipers and rotors on the front.

Dunno where Im going to get the rest of the info I need - maybe Ill hassle my local Toyota dealer.
