gday lads.

recently picked up a rb30 and wanting to turbo it (and have no idea when it comes to turbos). have read a bit of info but not much info on specifics. not looking for huge power, after reliability.

am trying to get power down low so what turbo is best to run.
do i fuel inject it or keep it carby, not interested in gas as cant hold enough on board.

was thinking of buying a fuel injected turbo vl and swapping everything over, or am i better off buying what i need.

cheers in adavance

Get all the gear off a factory turbo one and just bolt it on, easiest way. Should be able to find plenty of info/parts here: http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/index.php

G'day mate.

You're on the right track, and like Chunk's posted check out calaisturbo, heaps of info and they will help you out with Q's you will have  .

If you use the N\A motor, you will have more off boost Torque due the higher compresion ratio, but you will have to watch how much boost you put in.

Run the Fuel injection, and get a Nistune Daughter board put in, tuned by some one that know them and you will get massive gains, and when you want more power the standard Computer will be fully tunable, so you can fit bigger Injectors, z32 AFM and wot not

I would allow $800 to get the standard Turbo highflowed as well, best money i've spent on mine so far, spools up quicker, more efficient, i got Hypergear to do mine, more than happy with his service, price and results

Patrol is carby, VL is EFI if that's what you mean?

Ive got two gas tanks in my lwb and together they have a combined capacity of 160lt approx.

Here's a link to my thread http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/ftopic170799.php it might give you some ideas.
