4.88 to 4.3 diff ratio change- does my VSS need calibration?

Gday guys,
Just changed from 4.88s to 4.3s in my Commodore V6/88 Hilux
Given that its manual trans with cable speedo, does the VSS (Marks transfer case mounted unit) really need calibration for the new diff gears? I mean, seeing as how the VSS is not controlling any auto trans functions, all it really needs to tell the ECU is when its deaccelerating, yes??
Any input appreciated.
