Dedicated offroad tires, what would you get?

Ok, I've a budget of $500 a corner. I need tires and rims. Rims don't need to be fancy. Looking at either 33's or 34's, to go on a 60 series LC.

I have in mind that Interco TSL's(or LTB's, always get them mixed up) might be in that price range. But can't really think of anything else :? I'd like Simex ETs or JTs but I think they're over 400 a corner?

They will be getting trailered to and from trails with minimal road work, so the more agressive the better really. Any suggestions or prices?

If your doing lots of mud and clay simex are great, 15x8 rims and 33's should be easy...PM sent

Unless somethings changed in the last 6 months, the Treps have a less aggressive pattern in anything under a 37".

yeah go the swampers....34/10.5x16 last I priced them were 340 each, or SSR's in a 285/75x16 are a full 34" tall and go for 360 each last I priced them up.

otherwise, go Silverstone MT117 Extremes.....for 340 each or so in 35/10.5x16 from Hobzees 4x4 store.....

Silverstone Extremes are back on the market, I have seen them in action heaps and drove them this weekend on a very hard track. They are an excellent offroad only tyre, we had a single locker IFS 4 Runner out driving bigger double locked solid and SAS rigs in some places.

Currently selling for $360 ish a corner in 35" so will fit the budget well.

Anyone who tells you they are not a good offroad tyre hasn't seen or driven them IMO.

Cheers

Seen a few vehicles with the Extremes on, seems to be a good peforming tyre.

Minor hijack, is there also any deals on aggressive 31" tyres at the moment?

Where from?

Anyone know where to get swampers from in NSW Sydney or Wollongong?
Most local shops struggle to get even the 'normal' 4x4 tyres!

Absolutely luved my 33x12.5x15 TSL Swampers had two sets got some 34x11.5x15 Simex JT2s pieces off sh#t (crap on rock but good in mud) sold them now have 36 TSL swampers  .
By the way 33 swampers are taller than nearly all other 33s bar Simexs. Claws are very small but wide but side ways stability is crap. In mud the Simexs work better than my Swampers but I dont like mud and the Swampers work better than the Simex on rock. Of course these are my oppinions from what I've run with me and mates, so dont take it as gospel!

Personally the only 2 tyres I'd buy in what size you want is the Swampers or the Centipedes pending on what terrain you prefer! M2cs
You may be scared at the price of either as Swampers have come up alot in price too!!! My 33 Swampers I bought 3years ago were around $330e Just picked up my 36s a couple of months ago for $440e after being realllllly suffed around.
Good luck! Cheers Mick
