Winch mount plate

What thickness of steel plate should i use for my Winch Mount . Its going to mount an M8000 on the front of a v8 hilux. I have plenty of places to brace it back onto and underneith the front of he Vehicle. :P

Don't go too thick or you will have trouble getting long enough pop rivets.

3/4/5mm depending on how you are going to use it. I just upped my centre section from 3mm to 6mm because it wasn't strong enough.

As has been said it's more about how you use the plate than how thick the plate is. 4-5mm would easily be adequate using a properly designed mount
