Hi mate - get your mate to go over to http://www.performanceforums.com and http://www.toymods.net for info on this.

It will depend on auto or manual obviously, what he wants to use it for and how much HP the motor is set up for.

Cheers

Sean

from what ive been told a 2jz will probably just destroy everything around it in a hilux and everything in the driveline, just wouldnt handle it. I was looking at putting one in my hilux but was told prob safer to stay away from them (from a performance mechanic friend type guy :? ) however i am definately no expert and its prob been done before so meh....give it a go. in regards to the actuall question, i have no idea :finger:

You need an r150 from a v6 hilux and a dellow bell housing for a 1jz to r150
just specify that you have the 160 mm input shaft

r150 is plenty stong have had one in mine for 1.5 years no wories even ran it with out oil for 3 weeks (another story)

i am running a split case transfer due to my choice to use a 80 series chasis in my lux as the diffs are both offset
but the box its self is the same
the 2jz is an awesome engine as it has very strong low down torque due to the two way turbo set up( all the exhaust goes thru 1 turbo till 3000 rpm)
it has more low down torque than a na 4.5 in a cruiser
i have a mines computer and it will happily spin out to 8000 rpm so best of both worlds low down torque and huge usable rpm range
