Hi All

Im currently chasing 2x dana 60 axel housings to go under my xj,
not exactly sure as to the exact specs for both front and rear dana 60 housings but i know it can be done with a bit of cutting and welding.

So if ne one knows what im on about and could point me in the right direction as to obtaining 2, 2nd hand housings (no centres or axles required, but will take aswell) i would be very appreciative and quite happy 2 swing a couple of cartons your way. :D

Unless you're running stupidly huge tyres and intend to do some mud bogging, why are you needing the Dana 60's?

Why not Nissan/'Cruiser diffs?

I know some Fords had them, (some where evn dual rear wheels). Fronts, most were 44's unless you wnt to go with later Fords, som ewith s super 60? But there still new in the states, so big cashola!

easy to pick up rear 60's.... but your front hard to find.. most i have seen are out of f trucks and start around $2000 unbuild here in Aus.

all to do now is order air lockers, moly axels, yukon 5:88 ratios and get the housings re-engineered and bolt it all togeather, i will be running the rear as a full coilover conversion, not leaf, big step up from 30 front high pinion and rear 35 (both with lockers, yukon ratios and moly axels) lol watch the nissans cower ........ ahahahahaha

Dont mean to rain on your parade but at the end of the day you still have a uni body truck that this heavy running gear is going to add stress too I hope you have talked to an engineer before you start your project if you ever want to run it on the road It aint impossible but for the $$ you might be better putting this running gear into a full chassis rig

Picked up the housings from a bloke who happened to have a few ford wrecks layin around, will have a few pics up soon. Im currently running a 4.8L stroked version of the 1996 HO inline six, have only 8000k or so on the clock so far, running beefed up transmission, , 5.5 (mostly) rubicon suspension lift lift with 33's and bushwacker flares, plus a whole heap of other stuff.. Current mods on the go include custom motor wiring harness, tuned port intake manifold / air inductiont overhaul to accomodate supercharging and of course the dana 60's aswell as other drive line changes. All equals alot of running around and alot of write off's to the work truck come tax time each year, ahahah.

OH yea and by the way it took 9 months of constant searching and naging people to find the housings :)

I just want to see pics of the $490 D60 diffs. At that price i will take 10 sets if available.

i am surprised he got them from a FORD? everyone i have seen that have HD D60 fronts have had D70 or sterling rears, and these are usually rare as F250/350's.

Might be a typo, Ruff?

Could be another 0 missing from the end? $4900

Hey all im giving up outerlimits for AJOR, so if your interested in the truck and the build i suggest viewing it on there.

Thanks for your intrest. an yes the easiest place to find d60's is in a FORD.

true, thats what i thought as well, but i put a locker in a mates 79F250 4x4 and it had an oddball D70 (weird bearing sizes). Very nice though! really smooth on the bottom compared to a std D60.
