replaceing external reg alternator with internal reg (HJ60)

ok so while i was away the alternator died on my 60 series 2H diesel got a price for a replacement and i just cant afford the $600 price tag right now so i got one off a mate that was internally regulated

so i was just wondering if some one can explain to me how i should wire this up as i have to drive back down to tafe at 4am monday morning and really really need it working

It shouldn't be too hard as there is a lot less wiring involved than the original externally regulated set-up.

Basically you will just be hooking up the main cable from your battery, the second cable from your battery to the S terminal or equivalent on your new alternator, and the wire from your existing warning light to the L terminal or equivalent. Although the terminal designations may differ pretty much all internally regulated alternators will have the same basic set-up.

Unfortunately I can't tell you which wire is which on your older toyota wiring.
