Hi all

Just wondering if i can remove the free wheeling hub studs and just use high tensile bolts but still retain the cone washers

Main reason is for ease of track side repairs in getting the cone washers off and have them flying everywhere.

I guess you could but the cone washers are easy to remove. Undo the nut leave it on the stud a few turns and smack the hub with a hammer next to the stud, the cone washer will pop right out. undo the nut and remove the washer and cone. easy

Instead of hitting the alloy hub near the cone washers, and thus bruising the hub, and making the cones stick in oval holes, hit the end of the studs sharply, but lightly when the nut is still on it, but undone, and they pop off easily.
A thinner drift works well too.

Real easy, and no damage.
