few questions about 35's on a GU

Post by MNBS 4x4 »

I currently have a 1999 4.5 petrol series 1 GU which I am about to stick a 4" lift into, I have a set of MTR 35x12.5x15 tyres that came off my last GQ which i was hoping to use.

Firstly will the 15" rims fit ok(do i need to change to 315's on 16's) and secondly, this afternoon I measured from the stud holes on the rim to the outer edge of the tyre and they are going to hang out past the gaurd by about 45-50mm, I have seen people using garden edging to extend the gaurds but I am not to keen. What size of offset rim do I need to suit fitting the 35's.
Would anyone have some photos of there GU on 35's so i can see what you have fitted and how it looks, are there any after market flares like the bushranger type thing that you can fit

cheers

Mate

35s fit fine with 3 inch lift, you will shit it in with 4 inch.
15 inch rims are ok on your model patrol.
i had toyota offsets on my GU and they sat nice, Just inline with the factory flairs.

I have Cooper 315/16 on my S1 TB45 GU with 3 inch spring lift, they fit no probs, i needed a bracket available from ARB to fit the spare on the back properly. My friend has the same with 15 inch rims and they fit just clear of the brake caliper with no problems so far. Another friend has a TB48 TI GU witch will not fit 15's due to the bigger brakes.
