hi there my mate has a 2.8 forerunner 1994 model , rolled over and stuffed the roof not insured etc etc , am mechanic so no problems with swapping another body onto it without going into too much detail , just wondering if the petrol body is different in any way to the diesel just so i know what i should look for in a replacement.. thankyou very much in advance , ps before i get the just put a new roof pressing on it there is far more damage than just the roof , the chassis is fine as is the engine and rest of the driveline.

I wouldn't think there are any diferences that arent bolt on so it should be fine.

Ask over here and you will get an in depth answer

Basicaly the same you will find however that not all bolt holes are in the engine bay if you buy a petrol body. Specifically the bolt holes for the fuel filter. There may be others im not aware of. But it can all be worked around. I would just buy the best one you can find and not worry if its petrol or diesel.

V6 body will have the transmission and low range sticks in a different size/position hole, also the console will be different as will the wiring.

So I would think that the wiring looms will be your biggest hassle between petty and diesal.

If it's an SR5 Limited then keep the drivers seat they are a recaro 7 way sports adjustable seat and much much better than standard.
