Hi Guys,

Looking at a 97 3.1tdi jack, 211k on the clock

I understand that there is always things to fix on 2nd hand vehicles but wondering if these are expensive...

Front CV boots, 3 out of 4 are split. Will this also lead to cv failure?

Engine leaks, exxy? can't tell from where atm...

Gearbox leaks?

Other than that usual stuff like spongy brakes, shokies prob need doing etc

With the first 3 faults am I looking at heaps of $$? I understand with the oil leaks it is hard to say without pinpointing exactly where...

Hey.

I just got quoted $220 per side to have the cv boots replaced. (I have a late 92 model jack)

It can lead to failure as the grease comes out and you can get buildup in the cv.

$220 per side is way over priced just got mine done both inners and outers for $150 a side. Had a good ring around and they were all (quotes) about that. Suggest you do the same.
