Vitara G16A Carb questions

Hey guys,
Ive searched everywhere, including my haynes manual to try and identify which screw adjusts what on the carby
First picture is looking in at the carb from the drivers side (in Australia).
Screw 1 appears to attach to a vacuum and screw 2 a spring that moves the throttle cable when pushed, despite being on the opposite side of the carb assembly. I cant see how its attached because the linkages run under the carb and i dont really want to remove the whole carb.
Also in this picture ive circled a purplish plug that sits under the two screws. This originally had a black cylindrical object that pushed ontop. If anyone knows it is so i can replace the black part that would be of great help too.
Picture two is looking over the top of the engine from the passenger side towards the carb. The accelerator cable comes in from the firewall and attachesto the carb on the right side in the picture. There are two screws next to each other and another (unable to see in this pic) under the hose.
I have played around with each one individually to try and figure out what each one actually adjusts but without success, and now the Vit is running like crap when i first kick it over but comes good if i sit in it long enough with my foot on the gas.
I just want to be able to identify what each screw adjusts so i can make adjustments as required.
Cheers,
Shannon.
