snapped a axel are they the same with difflock

hey guys i was out the other day and iv snapped my rear left axel by the sounds of things..... mine has the standard rear diff lock are they the same as the standard axels?? or am i in for a big headache

for those of you who dont know its a 92 3ltr v6 jtop paj

A few years back a member had a similar problem, and detailed his experience. I can't remember his username, but his name was Mike, and he was fairly active at the time.

Short answer - they're not the same. Have fun. :)

I fitted the import locker to my Aussie MH [note using the standard carrier]. The axles needed were different lenghts and larger diameter

Yes from memory the housing is the same but the right side axle is 7mm longer than the left.
What I don't know is if either side is the same length as the lsd axles.
That's why I like the ARB lockers both axles are the same and are easily picked up 2nd hand for under $200.
I remember someone here having to buy one new from Mitsu as he just couldn't find a 2nd hand factory locker axle cost him $700-800 from memory.
