Hi guys just bought my first diesel a 4.2 over the weekend as mentioned in a previous post. I want to check and make sure everything is ok and the car is in as gooder nick as advised. It has partially complete service history.
I am in the Gong and have been referred to TurboGlide, also on here, and it was suggested that i get a fuel system service done to make the car a "known quantity".
In it they do and I quote

Diesel Fuel System Service
The most comprehensive diesel fuel service available.

Includes:
Supply and fitment of injectors.
Inspection and adjustment of pump timing.
Valve clearance inspection and adjustment (ball and nut type).
Check filters.
Fuel quality and volume inspection and or adjustment.
Chassis dynamometer report on commencement and completion.
Test all glow plugs.
Reverse flush fuel lines.
Valve shim adjustment – Note: Incurs extra charge.

All for $1074.25

Questions, is it worth it, what do you reckon, is it overkill, or as I am going to Alice in early October, is it money well spent,
thanks in advance for honesty,
cheers

seems like an alrite price , being a mechanic id never spend on stuff like that id replace my injectors and do my filters pump timing and valves myself and pocket the rest. =] as the dyno report in my eyes only proves they actually touched something.....
