80 series LSD options

What options are available for a good LSD in the rear of an 80 series, The truck has 35's and an LS1 V8. I looked at the detroit tru-trac but they don't recomend it for over 33's. Was thinking maybe shim th etoy LSD, don't know how long it will last. Or use a GQ rear diff, but thats alot of work, and i loose the good toyota brakes, Plus handbrake is an issue.
I don't wanna hear put an airlocker in, or an auto locker. The main reason for a goos LSD over an airlocker is for on road. ATM in the wet or on dirt it just spins one wheel and goes no-where. This would not improve with an airlocker. and i don't like the un-predictability of an auto locker.
Thanks
Steve

could graft a GU diff into the 80 housing?
have seen a few guys do it on the fronts, dont see why it cant be done for the rear.

Mate i just took my rear lsd out of my 75. Becuase all tension was gone! I put a airlocker in but im not saying for you to do that! My boss use to shim them up to retenion them. He said after reshimming they dont really have a problem. Just wash out all the parts really well and use a good quility LSD oil. Hope this helps!

dont bother re shimming the toy lsd.. waste of time...
ya only real option is a detroit,
Kaaz LSD's are awesome, but not sure if they make them for cruisers or not.. they are wat all the drifters use. they are a mechanical lsd

looks like its detroit or ......detroit...
or keep pulling the stock 80 out every 5000kms and retensioning it.
when i got my old one retensioned it was chirping around corners. was very tight...
3000kms later useless.

There was a good article in A4WDM about the construction of the 80/toy and GQ/GU LSD's and why the nissan one was soo much better.
So yes, unless you want to graft in the GQ/GU pumpkin, the Detriot is probably your only option, short of making the nissan carrier fit the toyota third member.
My only other though would be a Torsen, but alas they are not an off the shlf item, some info possibly here
