Outer Limits 4x4 Board

ive just been helpin a mate set up his winch for competition (OUTBACK CHALLENGE) and no one in townsville wanted to splice the plasma/dynamica... cos it needs a special tool..... went to chandleries and rigging places and they woodnt do it....... so i asked my old man who has abit of knowledge in this area and he recons just to loosen the the woven rope up abit and feed the end back thru the middle of its self bout 400mm so that when it is put under strain the rope will tighten up on its self (just like a ski rope)....any other ideas on how to spice it..... and i also know that it can be tied too

yes just splice it like a ski rope, feed it in and out of itself a few times and it binds up real nice.


don't need any tools at all but taping the outer body of a cheap ballpoint pen on the free end like a needle makes it very very easy.

using one of those 4 coloured bic pens with the blue head works well the rope fits in side it

Hope you get it sorted. BUT it is good to know how to do it before you need to and have no-one to ask. If your mate has any further issues there will be plenty of blokes in Broken Hill next week that will be more than happy to help.
PS Make sure he takes the pen!!
