i had my 94 hilux (2.8 diesel) 4.88's, 33's, 11psi no intercooler 65kw (87hp) at the wheels 300,000kms on motor. This is the turbo glide turbo kit with a t25 turbo, no intercooler and a 2.5" exhaust.

I know have a 3.0L 5Le motor with the same turbo kit on a different motor and have 75kw (100hp) at 14psi with still no intercooler and all the same running gear, 75,000kms on motor.

Note: turbo glide claim 30% increase in power and give you a dynpo report that states 85kw... this is not possible as the dyno report must be at the flywheel not at the wheels, i took it else where and had it dyno'd and got different results. The 2.8D motor is only 40kw at the wheels standard (from memory).

My old ute at 12Psi CT20 no cooler put out 77.5kw (104 hp). EGT's were a bit high though and when I put a gauge on it I had to drop some fuel out of it and never had it on the dyno after that.

The EGT's never go above 350 degrees fully loaded going up a hill...The truck is usually overheating way before my EGT's go over 350..

Not sure what EGT's the 2.8 ran as i never fitted the egt gauge till after i fitted the 3.0L motor.

Really? Thats a bummer.

So you got 100hp with no intercooler and EGTs of only 350 degrees?

58kw(78Hp) - 189 Nm with a CT20, standard boost, no intercooler, standard ratios, 33s, 350 thou on the motor......

after a new injector pump, injectors, timing belt and a dyno tune.. 70kw(95hp) - 220Nm @2520 rpm.

Yep.... sucks, i can go more fuel+power but the engine just overheats, was exactly the same with the 2.8 running 9psi.

When i ahd my 2.8 i repacked it, new radiator and thermostat, and it did not change..
Then i changed to a 2004 5Le motor which was a complete running engine and gearbox and had 70,000kms on the clock when i removed the whole assembily and put it in my 1993 lux. The engine in the 2004 model truck never overheated untill i put it in my truck.

But i did bolt my turbo kit on from my 2.8, bought a dp chip and had it dyno'd by turbotech in perth.

I have bought a new alloy radiator which i am still yet to put in as i have a feeling my a/c condensor infront of the radiator is the problem.. only thing i have not changed and the fins don't look real good (years of driving through locus plagues)

id be changing your water pump on the 3L, new thermostat, and get your radiator changed/flushed.

Im getting 72kW 320nM of torque at the rears on 33's, not sure on my diff ratios, but its a MTQ turbo kit, overhauled injector pump, boost compensator, 2.5" straight through pipe no mufflers, 2.5" dump pipe, top mount cooler w/ gu scoop, new injectors, and my egts wont even budge over 500, even pushing it hard up a hill.

however put a trailer on and my egts will get over 500 if i drive it to hard.
