Heya,

I called a few places today and they want $120 for a 16x8 sunny to fit an 80 series cruiser. I have heard lots of people paying like 50-70 per wheel.

Just wondering where to go in brisbane to get these 50-70 dollar wheels?

Cheers

Just paid $85e for 15x8 black sunnys, unsure of brand. my last 2 sets were just white 15x8 roh sunnys and got them for $50e but the was a few years ago now! 16" are always dearer! Try Dave at Tyreworks 32902511 as he's looked after me with tyres and rims for years, Tell him Mick with the big white Patrol sent ya he'll look after you also ;)
Good luck!

That would be normal for a 16"

Last I spoke to a friend he was paying $28 wholesale for a 15x8 and $85 for a 16x8.

The cheap rims you hear about will be 15"

buy some second hand rims for $10-$20 and re-paint them should set you back $30max for each rim and they would be better than brand new... thats if you want to save some cash.

EDIT: Not better than new, but would look like new :D

hehe cheers

How do you figure that, you dont know how they have been treated nor ho many k's they have done.

The tapers on mine are nearly shagged after 400,000km.

They might LOOK better than new but thats it, you cant paint wear & tear back on.

lol i dont work with 4wd tv or got anything to do with them,

as for the upper post;
thats second hand. I bought steelies before and repainted them black gloss and they were better than new, it depends what you buy too, pretty much all commen sense. Their are heaps of bargains in the 4x4 wrecking yards, some even give away for free.

anyways best of luck

I think your confusing 'better' with 'cheaper'

What's a ryano?

Seriously though don't go for the cheapest wheel you can find - unless they're just going on to make the the car saleable.

Dynamic and rockcrawler are the better brands IMO. ROH and speedy have a lower quality finish and i've heard they often suffer excessive runout. The procomps especially are far stronger.

hehe, alot of people are fussed with second hand items.

And Ryano is a bloke who works at FOURBYS, and yes procomps are real good for serious offroad, i just love them!

I've had 3 quotes on 16x8s recently. 2 said $120, 1 said $125.

These were all from fairly 'discount' stores with no fancy showrooms etc. Seems like ~$120 is the going rate these days.

I think the people talking in $50-$70 range are probably buying 15s, and probably even bought them a few years back.
