Outer Limits 4x4 Board

i have 5 spotties i'd like to put on my frog, and i'm not really sure which way to go about it. so if anyone can maybe give me a run down on this, or any advice, would be great.

there will be 2 on the bull bar, and 3 on a roof bar over head. i'd like to have the front and overhead spotties on different switches.

spotties are hella, round, 2x100w, and 3x120w.
they are going on a vitara, so small engine, small battery, and small alternator.

i've heard many different things, but not sure which path to take, and i'm sure this is a place to get an answer.

some say, new battery, or 2 batteries, or bigger alternator, or 12v power amplifiers, and it just keeps going, sorta getting a head ache.

i know basic wiring, but in which method. some say the lights could draw more current than can be provided, resulting in flat battery?

1st off, bigger alternator, somthing 100amps +

2nd, biggest battery you can cram in there

3rd, heaps of chrome spray paint to go will all the bling bling lights

I'm running 4 x 130 watt spotties on my roof rack. What I done was made a mirror image of the R/H/S battery tray and mounted it on the left giving me another 390cca battery for the 4 spots and a few hand helds when we take it out hunting This will only work with the 16v motor as the air cleaner is at the front vs 8v at the rear

I've still got the standard alternator and just have jump wires from the primary battery to the secondary to charge it and have had no problems even after running all the lights for 6 to 8 hours at a time.

I'd use a decent duel head light type relay which will give you an output for your roof spots and one for the bumper spot as well and don't skimp on the wire size either, I think I ran 2.5mm shielded twin core and returned the earth to the battery as well.

BTW mine are split into 1x R/H/S 2x centers 1x L/H/S, I normally have the sides ones about 10 deg out each as it give a huge spread.

so in total you will be running an extra 560 watts. this equates to an additional 47 amps of power that your going to be draining from the battery than standard, more if you have larger headlight globes also.
Best way is to put in a larger battery for starters as the std battery will go flat fairly quickly with that much power drain, and considering that your alternator would not be large enough to have an additional 50 odd amps taken from it I would upgrade that also.
The cheapest way would be to go to a wreckers and find an alternator that would fit on your zook engine the same as your current one.
the amperage is written on a sticker on the outside of the alternator, so you can see what amp yours is, maybe a baleno one as there is more electrics on that and it has the same motor?
