I have a superior engineering drag link and a locked up 4x4 pitman arm. same as 80 series I believe.
If you get a locked up 4x4 piman arm get the flat one.

Are you moving your box forward at all? If you're just after a flat arm locktup have them. Perhaps a little more info on your steering set up? RUF? etc.

From what ive read, I think hes trying to do it "economically". Hence the reason for crossover instead of high steer.

You can use an 80 series pitman arm and maybe get some 80 series TRE's and make a draglink, not sure what the length of the 80 series stuff is.

But then when you consider that locktup sells the high steer for $800, you're only going to be slightly ahead with the cross over setup.
Based on:

Superior crossover arm = $500
Couple of TRE's = $100??
Draglink= $100?
IFS box mount from Buddy = $60

= $760

yea i know what your saying yamaha_308 but the superior crossover arms are only $160 not $500.i dont need the cast arms as its not my daily driver anymore.

i wish i had the money to do high steer but its not possible and also dad wont let me spend that much on my car.

i am doing:
-ruf
-crossover steering
-ifs steering box (not sure where atm but people put theres hard against the radiator)
-superior double welded arms
-banana shackles
-1'' dropped front crossmember
-shock hoops

ill talk to ya's at the end of the weekend.going on holidays

Fairy nuff.

If you're going that way, then i spose its cheaper.
Your still going to be spending a fair bit as it is.

Why not just wheel the shite out of it as it is? Its got decent flex now. And just replace steering arms as they break?

yea i do wheel the shite out of it now,i just want more flex caus i love it,
i not a ramp queen but i just love flex, and its a more responsive and reliable steering setup aswell.

everyone ive talked to hasnt regretted going with ruf and crossover so i thought i would be one of those people.the flex coming out of the front of a leaf sprung hilux is pretty incredible wth ruf.

Hey mate,
Crossover is a good idea over stock i suppose but i would definitely just save up and get the high steer kit so much easier.

Your Steering box will end up as far forward as it can be, but you just set it up so your arms dont hit each other.

Also RUF is a good mod but without longer shocks and hoops you wont actually get any more flex normally you need at least 12'' shocks to make em work.

But your on the right track for a good weekender you can always add all of the above later...

yea 4runner-01,you got the right idea im talking bout,if i end up selling the lux it isnt going to be worth half what i spend on it so the cheaper i get out of it the better.and its copletely impossible for me to get high steer.

i am 16 and my dad "RULES" when it comes to my car.

he hates my car and me spending money on it,he's a nissan man so he just says "BUY A PATROL" there way better.

he will not let me spend over $700 on my car at once, not a chance,
so if i can get outof buying bits and piees here and there for crossover he'll never know till i start rippin my car apart and he cant stop me.

think back to when you were 16 and had your first car,i bet ya it was a sh!tbox and your dad said ''dont spend money on that hunk of shite, its not worth it".

anyway yea i cant buy high steer so i have to settle for cross-over instead.

cheers..smiley..
