Where can I get an adaptor to mate a Hilux gearbox to a Rangie V8? Is someone in QLD making one? Ruff? I have heard it is possible to get a Supra bellhousing adaptor to do the same thing. Can this be confirmed? Which is the correct Hilux gearbox model (what is its designation and what model ranges did it come out of)? I don't know much about Hiluxes. Which is the strongest one with the lowest first gear? Thanks in advance.

Strongest hilux box, with lowest first gear comes from marks adapters
BUT with marks, you never know about pricing or time delivery, as every time i have asked about the cruiser crawler he feeds me some shiat
BUT his V8 conversion kits and so forth that I have used have been very professional, AND I have heard this gearbox is the BOMB!!

Right. Now what about standard gearboxes that I can get from a wrecker? What's the model number I can ask for?
And who's making the adaptor?

Castlemaine Rod Shop in Vic does sh1tloads of different adapters too. They may be worth contacting.

Haven't been able to call Rod Hadfield yet but I contacted Triumph Rover Spares in Adelaide. They've got a kit to suit the W55 Supra gearbox. Can I use this with a Hilux gearbox? Around $600 for the adapter, spigot and fork.

NAM, why would you get rid of the Rangie stuff other than length and weight, not for strength and gearing?
However do know of a Rover to Supra/Hilux adaptor in Melton. $400 for whole kit. Attune Motors in High St. He knows me as the Pedders Rep.
Gee, I'm good to you.

Locky,
The reason is size. Even though the LT95 ends up being the same length as the Suzuki one - it's massive. I want a strong and compact box with the option of going dual cases down the line. Do Attune make the adaptor or is there a one off kit that might be sold any day now? Thanks dude.

NAM $400 is cheap as Dellows want $450 for the bellhousing alone.
Basicaly all thje Hilux gearboxes are the same 1st gear ratio.Well they are slight differences but not worth the stuffing around for.
Just use a G52 box as they are the most common.
The R151 box is the strongest but is very rare in aus.

You could get the R150F which is a lot stronger than the G52/W56 but has the chain transfer on the back !

Nah not gonna consider chain driven transfer cos wanna be able to go dual cases later. Thanks for all your help. I'm getting the kit from the dude in Melton.
