Cape trip

Hey all,

I've got a 97 patrol GQ. Air locker up front and Stocky LSD in the rear. My question is do I need to get muddies to do a Cape trip? I have 6 (2 spares on carriers) near new 7.50 / 16 Dunlop Road grippers on there at the moment. The tyres are on splitties so changing for a flat is no probs! The Road grippers have done me well for all the driving I have done out here in Mount Isa 200 k's from the NT boarder (just in case you don't know where Mt Isa is).

Cheers

after all the rain thats been up here ... definately muddies of some sort
skinnies seem to be prefered for the cape trip too ... lots of sharp rocks
and sticks to take out ur sidewalls with ...

ask JAKE what its like he's got more of an idea

Yeah I know there has been a bit of rain around. Me and a few other trucks are heading up in about 7 weeks. Up through Normanton, then on the Bourke Dev Road, up to Musgrave then Coen etc.
