interested in locking the rear of my ln106. Just wanted to know how the lockrite lockers performed compared to an air locker?

I had 1. Used to chew up the springs and dowls. I got told is wasnt set up correctly. So took it to the pro's to set up right. Still did the same thing, just took longer. I ended up giving it away. Air locker all the way.
Mine may have just been a random case, as there are few people who are happy with them.

I have a Detroit rear and ARB front. The only time I notice that an ARB would be better in the rear diff is in wet conditions. It tends to push the car forward when I am trying to turn. Other situations where the ARB is better is when you have a front wheel in the air and the car is torque twisting. In that scenario, if you unlock the rear you can generally get the front back to earth.

mate do a search as it has been asked a million times.
Basically if you can afford a airlokker then buy it, then you can select it when you want it and when driving on road you have no problems/ noises/ increased tyre wear... etc.
When i had more limited funds i bought a lock rite and had it in the front... By itself with no rear lokker it puts alot of strain on the front cvs and intern will start breaking things...
But in the rear (if you are on a budget) they are awesome, if set up right they are ok but will still make a clicking sound when cornering, with the occasional bang as they are loaded up and try to unlock to allow you to turn...(but this is only noise it does not hurt anything and you get used to it)
Do a search you will find alot about them on here
...
They are well worth the money, are easy to install if you know what you are doing. I had it in a ln106 lux and used the lockrite in the rear with a 2nd hand airlokker in the front.

daily driver or not?
i had one in a weekend toy it was fine. just power off around corners.
i now have ARBs. they are tops when they work. but when they dont they suck!
atleast with a lockrite you will know if its working.
id say as above if you can afford an arb go it.
but if you cant it depends if its a daily driver or not in my opinion.

yeah its my daily driver plus running 33's on the road. Will probs faulk out an go the arb just to save unnesecary tyre wear and drive train wear running a lockrite on the road. thanks fellas ill search more around the site and have a good read.

Lock rights are ok as long as ya can drive it right took me a couple of weeks to get the hang of it nad it helps alot having equal pressure in the tyres so they have the same amount of traction ..
Yep they bang and clunk but like i said once ya get the hang of them on the road there good and the good part is no air line to rip out in the bush and there allways locked ...
