Thats the set up I run and Im sure others do as well.
Make sure you reinforce the mounts, get a rock ring or simalar to spread the load over more area.

Not in my experience, but an abusive driver can break anything.

The transfer cases that I've seen broken have been due to faulty australian sourced gears, not big tyres.

Did you even read my post Joe?

It's possible to break anything, and I haven't SEEN ant broken US sourced gears- but I've seen plenty of australian sourced gears break, along with all the "oh - you had larger than stock tyres - no warranty then" problems.

Lots of people have run more tyre and more gearing than any of us have ever run with reduction transfer gears and have not had breakage.

There's in interesting trend here though, I reckon that tall lifts, SWB cars and super strong mounts seem increase the chances of transfer breakage, once material and design factors are removed (the problems I've seen with local gears) then you have to look at vehicle design and driver.
