GQ dash gauge

has anyone had the problem where the dash clock works when it feels like it is there a fix for this or should i just fork out the dough and buy a new one

seems to be a patrol thing. put a temp gauge or something in instead

its a common prob a search would prob bring somethin up.

its due to dry soldered joints onto pc board. rip it out. open it up and resolder every joint u can get a clean hit at with the soldering iron.

should work good as gold then :armsup:

With mine, I hit every joint with the soldering iron. Made it work for about 10 mins, then nothing.
So I changed the 47uF 16v capacitor for a new one and it's been working fine for the last month. Cost me 10 cents!!! And it's dead easy!!

Caps get old and dry out and get out of whack or stop working all together. Mainly because of heat or in this case lack of use.
First the crappy dry solder joints stop the clock working then after 10 years or so of not working the caps dry out = 2 problems. Easily fixed! :D
