Optima D34.
Fits in the standard tray with about 5 minutes worth of mods.
Simply THE BEST deep cycle battery on the market that will fit.

You'll get change from $400 depending on where you shop.

I agree, if you can afford it go Optima. Heard a story the other day of one 14 years old and still going strong. Mate has had one for 10 years and still fine. We have one we use for jump starting and its been good for 4 years and it gets neglected.

i've got the optima D34 as a second battery in my vitara to run my fridge.

its a bit more expensive, but you really get what u pay for

I agree with the optima..... my yellow top is completely dead after about 6 years, but it probably died from underuse (second battery that was only used for jump starting, running a compressor and very occasionally a fridge) I will be buying another shortly.

One of the best things about the optima (except for the usual features) is when your car ends up having a lie down, you dont spill acid all over the engine bay.

Exide Orbitals are the same thing and cheaper if you dont want to pay for the brandname.

I've got a optima red top in mine that would be nearly 8 years old, the cars been in the shed for the last 4 years and it still starts fine, I'd definably buy another

a year or so ago when I got my lil red softop I put my yellow top in it that had sat for the past few years in my dead yellow (now long gone) dudlux ...

started it easy, much about with the car for weeks before I realised the alt was lucky to be making 11v ... after 2+ years of sitting it had the guts left to run the motor for a few hours and it was no spring chicken at that point..
