hydro steering...

I want to run hydraulic steering on my next truck I'm in the process of figuring it all out so any help will be great. I know that for engineering it still need mechanical linkages in case of a hose blows out on the front... but it's going on the rear...
these are the parts I'm thinking of using...

you want rear steer on a road driven zook? no one will pass it. not even for the front.

have you spoken to an approved engineer yet?

What advantage are you hoping to achive in a road driven vehicle with rear steer ?
A sierra long or SWb will not gain an hell of alot with rear steer, there are alot of other options I would be chasing down before considering this.
Better axles and a rear disconnect to do front digs is the fist thing that springs to mind, with far fewer engineering headaches to deal with ( I am thinking both roads authority and actual engineering issues)

I'm not hoping to gain a thing on road, just a better turning circle off road, and the option to take obstacles side ways. More than anything i just want to see if i can do it
And how many times have you just need the rear end over there for that line but couldn't get it there?
The only reason i want to rego it is so i will have a better chance of complying with comp rules, not just setup for one competition but for a larger range.
What do you mean better axles, internal, external? yes front dig is an option which i may go in anyway... this is going in a stretched lwb zook

hilux diffs?
no way I would contemplate suzuki stuff in the rear.

You might find it's cheaper to run a front axle with 50˚ of steering, a rear disconnect and maybe even line locks on each rear wheel than it is to try and engineer rear steer.
Just some thoughts.
Steve.
this is more of what I had in mind ..
Improve what you have to the nth degree and take it from there.
( I have accidently clicked on edit instead of quote at some point while refrencing this post ... very sorry Stsve was good tech in it to..

valid point but im not looking for just making a circle on flat ground... im thinking that it may just be a weekend wheeler or comp mod...
Im thining that this will be a long way away and not in the next couple of months, so ill keep talking to my engineer...

2 completely different things in my opinion
rear steer for me is to be able to just pick any line you want
being able to move your rear tires over 1 foot on a climb is a huge benefit
and 50˚ of steering is just goin to let you turn sharp
it is more of a use for cone dodging not rec use

There's no doubt that's true redzook - I have a rear disconnect in my car and find it of very limited usefulness, but engineering more steering angle, disconnect and maybe even line locks might be possible if rear steer isn't.

Check pirate for some lux rear steer tech there is a fair bit there.
e.g.
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthre ... onda+buggy - Honda powered buggy with lux front and rear steer.
Layto....

I was thinking more in respect to keeping it road registered and engineered.

i agree with redzook just watching the TT drivers the switched on more experienced drivers were using rear steer to there obvious advantage.
here is the thread i found on pirate... I can't think how a rear disconnect would able it anymore with rear steer... maybe in the mud but seriously can't think of a time when I've wanted to just lock up a wheel for a line on the rocks...
I'm not out to cause fights...
this is a thread I'm reading though atm
http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.p ... ght=ruefab
cheers layto ill read through that later...

My rear disconnect mainly gets used when flat towing
I have used it once to my advantage though, when I was stuck with a boulder at either end of the vehicle, couldn't go forwards or backwards and the only way out was a 50 point turn or a burn turn.
