my lux is an 86 solid axle, ln65. how hard would it be to fit a bullbar to my lux?? the bullbar is from a 93 solid axle ln106
i know it wont bolt up, i know id have to make something up, is it worth doing if i can get the bar fairly cheap??

Cant help on that one, but you'll need to modify it anyway unless you want a gap between the bullbar and grill from the body lift you have in your sig.

I fitted a 93 bar to a 86 lux a while ago.

Take the old bar off hold the new bar up and have a look at what you need to do. EASY

not sure if it will work for you but i fitted a ln65 bullbar to my ln106 with only a little bit of grinding of the bar but it is a profile style bar not a winch bar
pics of the bar in the link

i got an ln106 bullbar on my ln65 lux.
but is only held together by 2 bolts at the front atm.
as im lazy and cant be bothered working on the red lux anymore.
I had to cut the arms off to fit it.
then those arms have to be lengthened and weleded.
either way the bullbar is going to have to be cut and welded due to the body lift.
Is it a winch bar?
cheers

Also depends on what brand of bar it is.
I know that my ARB bar on my blue lux is different to toyota bars.
As in the brackets that are used.
Cheers

If you are asking how hard it will be, it might be best to leave the whole project alone.

its a tjm bar, tube style, it was a bargain so i bought it, came with bumper, which im not planning on using. i put it on some blocks in front of the car last night to see if it will work, it looks as though it will fit ok and bolt up to the holes that my recovery hooks are in, just have to get some brackets to suit. it also looks like it wont have to be modded for the body lift.

the plan is to mount this bar using 2 bits of 8mm thick steel angle. holes drilled into angle and ill use m12 hitensile bolts, flat washers and nyloc nuts, side of angle bolted to bar, the top of angle bolted into chassis rails, same holes as used for recovery hooks.
does that make sense??
what are your thoughts??

no its fine, im just asking what people think of my idea, whether it will be strong enough or not. you see im not an engineer or even an expert. i need advice on most things thats all.
but thankyou for your offer

Sorry but it's near impossible to answer these sort of questions without seeing it. Just use some common sense and make it twice as strong as you think it would need to be. Can't go wrong.
