Hi all,

Can you install a 10,000lb Warn winch in an ARB bar after it has been fitted to a GU Patrol? I know you can get a 9000lb in and out but the 10,000 is a big beast!!

I just went out and had a look at mine (bar has been modded to suit 2" body lift in the coil cab) and I can't see how you'd get it out without removing the bar.

I run side rails and have 2 bars - 1 to suit the 10,000lb low mount that is in the car for general use when the ute is loaded to the hilt with camping gear, etc and an ARB bar that has been modified to take a high mount that was used for comp style stuff. It takes longer to swap over the wiring on the winches than it does to remove 1 bar and bolt on the other, so I wouldn't be too worried about having to drop the bar.

The winch is pretty heavy (and too expensive) to be juggling in fingertips through a tight fitting gap anyway.

Yep, sure can.
I've got the ARB dulux bar with a warn 10,000 winch in Series III Patrol.
You can only fit a 9,000lb in the factory Nissan bars.

Unless I misunderstood your question, you were asking whether it can be fitted without removing the bar not whether or not it will fit.

They definitely fit but I still don't reckon you could get it in or out without removing the bar first. For reference, my bar is one of the original, deluxe ARB bars, not one of the newer ones that is folded more like the 100 series cruiser bars.

yep, sorry, misunder stood the Q. I can't see how you would fit it in with out taking the bar off. I think the hassle you would have wouldn't be worth it even if you could
