ok i am in the process of setting my drive train up for my next project a capable tow, touring its a GQ patrol lwb wagon its getting a BB chev T400 i have adaptors to transfer with 85 % crawler gears and chev to chassis 2d extream radias arms 35's 6 inch springs
now were i am asking help is i was planning to run 3.9 in my air locked laminated GU diffs that will be going in also but i am told that the GU 4.8ltr has a 3.7 ish and as i am using the t400 (3 speed auto no overdrive) i dont want it reving to hard as its a bb chev, i want it around 2000rpm at 100ks and the 3.9 may still be a little high for this as its a tb42 auto now and in drive (over drive of) its doing high 2800 with 33's i am assuming it has 3.9's in it but as i just got it not 100% on that?
so in short
1. are there lower ratios for patrol than 3.9?
2. what are they ?
3. has any one got similar drive train and how does it rev at 100ks?
ps yes i used the formular to work it out but it dosent allow where your engine produces power, drag as in roof rack, lift and tires, areo dynamics, stall converter etc ok for a dyno maybe!

I ran 3.5's in my GQ with the 6.5 turbo diesel. They were great, till I broke a rear control arm and snapped the pinion flange off.
I'm now running 4.6's. Great off road, no reduction gears needed, but it doesn't like the highways.
I have a set of 3.5 gears for the front if you are looking.
3.5's are from a GU 4.8 auto.
cheers
