4.1 Hilux R&P ???

The scenario is that I'm considering putting a Hilux diff (complete 3rd) into my rear Disco axle housing.

Is there a Toyota ring and pinion that fits the rear Hilux diff in the ratio of 4.1? I know the LC80 has a 4.1 in the front that will fit, but from what I understand the cut isn't good for its use in the rear diff. As far as I'm aware the Hilux didn't come with 4.1's, though I'm happy to be corrected.

Good stuff. Thanks Nick.

Which Hilux's had the 4.1's?

3ltr auto surfs (93 - 96) had the 4.1. I swapped mine out for 4.3's after lunching the IFS diff and could not get a replacement. Don't think any early 2.4 Surfs had them. They are all 4.3 4.5 4.8.
I might still have the rear 8" R&P kickin around some where.

guys

my old lux (80 single cab 18R) has 4.1:1 ratios in it. I've wrecked another two since that for parts and they had the same. keep getting told that they are rare as rocking horse poo, but every lux i've found has em.

cheers

matt.

they shouldnt, but it is possible as someone may have swapped them out for better highway driving in favour of the 4.88.
