man these tyres look so good, it like has an mtz side wall style, and the tread pattern is pretty noice.

i've heard though that the side walls are rubbish, its like tissue paper. And they say the max you would get from a lady driving it, is 50,000km.

i searched on the u.s forums,

traction and road traveling are all average

sounds like an intresting tyre.

Looks like competition for the MT ATZ 4-ribs. i.e. a tough 'AT' tyre.

So no ones running these yet?

The only thing holding me back is the 2 ply sidewall
Most of the reports I've read from the US are on Jeeps but none seem to have issues with the sidewalls...

Ryano has a set on the shelf in 285 apparently...
I'd be all to happy to drop in and he can fit them up for me if he wishes :)

Yeah i know but i'm after 33x12.5R15... been quoted $345ea at beaurepairs.

I think I might just bite the bullet and give em a go... I haven't read a first hand report of staking/ripping/tearing a sidewall, everything is "I've heard..." or "apparently..."

Tried Darren Bruce? He may be able to chase them down for you

Autocraft 5221 1371

Im sure lots of people can source them, off the shelf there and then would be your problemo id imagine.

They look like a pretty good tyre :) just need a 3 ply sidewall. The only aggressive AT that i know of with the 3 ply sidewall (apart from BFGs) are the Pro Comp extreme all terrains.

Wow - bargain!

Be interesting to see how people find them after a few thousand kms. Tyres are soooo frikken expensive these days.

I droppped in to one of the Goodyear Autocare places today to see if they had any samples of the Duratrac and the Mickey Thompson rep was there... asked about the Duratrac and neither had seen one in the flesh. Got a quote on a ATZ's and they're on about the same money... $335each

That makes me feel not so bad after just ordering 5 ATZs for around the same price. If I coulda got a similar tyre and saved $500, wouldn't have been overly stoked.

They look good in pic! Told by local tyre dealer that NSW State Forrest will be using them when available.

The local beaurepairs is bringing in a set for me to look at in the flesh this arvo... provided the sidewalls aren't "like tissue paper" they'll be getting fitted up saturday morning!!

lol how do you test the sidewall without killing a tyre? =)

Well I imagine if they are indeed "like tissue paper" it would be pretty obvious. I also had a good look at the ATZ's yesterday so I have them to compare to on thickness, hardness etc... I realise its not a conclusive test but having a touch n feel should give a general idea??

Enter 4130warrior, a4wda should do a sidewall test similar to the AT test a while ago. :)

I'm getting a set mounted up on saturday. The sidewalls were quite flexy but didn't feel overly soft if that makes sense :? ... I tried poking my finger through it and couldn't so I can conclude that they are somewhat stronger than tissue paper! :D
I still haven't been able to find a single firsthand report/review on the interweb of someone ripping/tearing/staking a sidewall. I don't know that I'd be confident airing them down to 10psi but then I rarely go below 20psi as it is.

Oh really care to back that up with some links...? Or actual magazines that have tested the tire...? I actually find it hard to believe that a company that has there tires sitting on the moon would bring out a new tire for there range and make it sh#ter than the MTR or not at least as good as. Remember they brought out the MTR and have just made it better and the old MTR was on nearly every comp buggy around for ages until speciality tires started hitting the market.

Really like the BFG Mud Terrain that has the rim protector lip which keeps mud and dirt and kills the bead which causes them to slowly leak...? If they didn't leak then yes the wear life on them would be good if you didn't have to keep dropping into a servo to fill them up or put tubes in them. Or the KM2 which is going to wear probably at the same rate if not quicker...
