hey ok so time to start building a new truck here's the new idea

start with a short wheel base patrol chassis, knock a foot off the back so the wheels are right at the back.

ute cab, extra cab if i can. gq, gu not to fussed. then small dove tail tray to make up the rest.

extend shock towers so i can put in longer shocks without lifting it to much. run a nice 36 something like that.

anyone heard of a build like this or can anyone fill me in on what drama's i might have?

even general thoughts would be appreciated

ok

will look at moving suspension back rather than cutting chassis.

might even leave it all together. surely can't effect departure angle that much.

also haven't decided on the donk. should i run td42 or should go something non standard. ie 5ltr or 350 chev or something

I think most people extend the chassis to 109 from memory - Mid wheelbase for stability...
engine is up to your wallet.

thanks guys it all looks great

seeing that one from canberra you get an appreciation for how short they really are.

mid wheel sounds like the way to go.

will have to look into how much work that is.

wondering if it easier to cut down wagon i already have? any thoughts

Hey

A guy I know is putting a GQ ute cab on a shortie, in Central Qld now looking good so far!

But there was one on Boostcruising for sale allready done running 37's
Carby TB42 was tidy enough, he was selling it for about 8g dont know what happened to it.
It is located in Bundy.

There was one which raced in the ARB XWC 07
from rocky GU CAB, NAVARA STYLESIDE, TURBO PETTY.

Go TB45E TURBO

Good Idea Though!
