i really want to know if there are different series transfer cases like there are gearboxes and their compatibility with the h151f.

You will need the part time case (hf1a IIRC) from a DX model. Just check to make sure it has bolts on the PTO opening. You may also find it will come attached to a h150f gearbox aswell as the n/a diesel models came with this box, as to whether they work together im not sure sorry, dow50r or master dumbdunce may be your man :)

hi, hf1a sound like the case i'm wanting ;) cheers. anybody have an idea if the hf1a and hf2a were different in strength? similarly with the two boxes
(h151 and h150)? - they are going behind and ls2, so it's kind of important.

cheers - dave

they are essentially thesame box, so thesame strength. The part timer has an extra gear on the input shaft and a window in the outer housing, but no electric shift motor machinings in the case or centre diff inside the case....because of no centre diff, the part time case is shorter, so you then need a slightly longer rear tailshaft from a dx. All else will be sweet. It all bolts in and works....if you do it to an auto, the constant manual tailshaft fits the space.
